Internship reflections: TF VI.A

Model and teach legal and ethical practice related to technology use.

Train new teachers on the district Acceptable Use Policy.

On August 11-12, 2010, I trained the new teachers for the Highland Park School District on many aspects of the technology options in our district. One specific area that is reviewed is the HPISD Acceptable Use Policy and how it pertains to teachers and students.

During September 14-19, 2011, our district implemented a new "Responsible Use Agreement" to take the place of our districts previous Acceptable Use Policy. This new policy outlines what is considered responsible instead of just acceptable. Many areas of the new agreement focused on web tools and responsible behavior. Most of the teachers I worked with understood the necessity of the new protocols.
